the pilates studio
Welcome to my private at-home Pilates studio! Merging the comfort of home with studio grade professional equipment. My reformer is the Allegra 2 from Balanced Body, made in CA, USA, manufactured in 2025. The moveable footbar allows for clients of various height, and accessories such as the removable box and extended platform offer stability and accessibility for a wider range of exercises.
The Reformer is an inspired apparatus that can perform the functions of so many machines you’d normally find in a gym, while offering unparalleled support for bodies of all sizes, abilities and most ages youth to elder. In addition to trendy Pilates studios, reformers are often found in physical therapy offices and training campuses of professional sports teams. I work 1:1 because Pilates is all about the details, where tiny adjustments make a big difference.
My goal for every client and every session is twofold. First, that we work all the major components of the body to establish balance between upper & lower, right & left, front & back, with core work integrated throughout. We’ll probably also work a bunch of things you normally don’t, like ankles and toes because bruh, that’s your foundation!
Secondly, I want you to leave with more than a great workout—as an educator at heart, I want you to leave every session with a little more knowledge and appreciation of how your body works.
FAQs
-
Pilates builds mind body awareness by asking you to slow down and control your movements through the full range, giving your body time to activate more localized stabilizing musculature as well as the larger global muscle groups, also known as “the Pilates shakes!”
-
Wear snug fitting clothing to avoid getting excess fabric caught in the machine, and so the instructor can see engagement and alignment more clearly. Wear clean socks, with grippy soles preferred. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated and eat a light meal or nourishing snack an hour before.

Pilates is low impact and gentle enough on your body to perform daily, however that’s not always possible. If this is your only form of structured movement, 2-3x a week is ideal to build strength and progress. If you’re active in other ways, you’ll still see benefits from 2-4 sessions per month.

Breath: Fully inhale and exhale to oxygenate the blood, engage deep core muscles, and guide the rhythm of each movement.
Concentration: Maintain total mental focus on your body to execute each exercise with proper form and intent.
Centering: Initiate all movement from the “powerhouse”—the core region encompassing your abdomen, back, hips and glutes.
Control: Perform every single motion with deliberate purpose so that your mind dictates the muscles action rather than momentum.
Precision: Prioritize exact alignment and targeted execution over speed or quantity of movements.
Flow: Connect transitions and exercises smoothly, so the entire workout feels graceful, continuous, and rhythmic.
